Happy New Year! With a new year comes a new list of Top 10 Things to Do in Paragould. Read on to find out about all the fun things offered in Paragould this season.

January

1. Start the New Year off on the right foot.

In January, we frequently set new resolutions. If you decided to set one for being healthier, why not start the new year doing just that on a hike? Head out to Crowley's Ridge State Park to participate in their 1st Day Hike on Sunday, January 1 at 10AM.

Crowley's Ridge State Park is located at 2092 Hwy 168 North.

2. Help with a fundraiser.

Show your support for Paragould School District's School of the 21st Century by eating at Huddle House on Monday, January 9 from 4-8PM. Twenty percent of the sales during this time will go to the school.

3. Pick up a racquetball game. 

Head to the  Paragould Community Center and play a game of racquetball. If racquetball isn't your thing, you can play on one of their two full size basketball courts or walk on their indoor walking track .  They also have a new pickleball court! You can call 870-239-7530 to reserve a time to play on the racquetball or pickleball courts or they are first come first serve during all normal business hours.

4. Shop 'til you drop at Girls Night Out.

Gather your group of ladies and head Downtown for Girls Night Out on Saturday, January 28. Retail stores and eateries will be providing specials, deals, and more! Go to their Facebook event to find more details as the date gets closer.

5. Participate in a pageant.

The Greene County Tech Band Boosters will be hosting a Miss GCT Pageant on Saturday, January 28. The pageant is open to all Greene County Tech female students Pre-K through 12th grade. It will be an all-day event at the High School Auditorium. Tickets are $12 for adults, $8 for students, and kids age 3 and younger are free.

6. Attend a gun show.

The Northeast Arkansas Gun Show will be held February 25-26 at the Greene County Fairgrounds. The show will be hosted by Semo Gun Shows. Saturday the gates will open at 9AM and close at 5PM. On Sunday, the times will be 9AM-3PM. Tickets are $10 per adult and are good all weekend. Children 14 and under are free.

7. Learn more about local businesses.

If you're new to the area, Paragould Regional Chamber of Commerce has the perfect event for you to see what kind of businesses are in our area! Join them on Thursday, February 16 from 1-3PM at the Paragould Community Center for their 16th Annual Chamber Showcase.

8. Visit a bookstore.

If you or your children love to read, head to Weber's Book House to check out their selection of books. They have a wide variety of books available. What better way to spend the winter months than curled up with a good book?!

9. Listen to a concert.

If you like listening to chorale groups sing, you'll want to be at the Collins Theatre on Friday, March 3. Beginning at 7PM, the Arkansas State University Choir will be performing. For more information, visit the Collins Theatre Facebook Page as the date approaches.

10. Enjoy the outdoors.

As the temperatures slowly begin to warm up, take a walk on the 8 Mile Creek Trail. You can ride your bike, walk your dog, or go for a jog on four miles of paved trail. To get a map of the trail, visit the Paragould Regional Chamber of Commerce.
